Almost all online stores and many brick and mortar stores now ship directly from supplier to the customer and often shipping is FREE. Free shipping creates loyalty as it is a great savings as well as the fast shipping method means that the customer will return for repeat business. Drop shippers supply parts for servicing various kinds of equipment. Many customers who do their own repairs, order various parts that they need and have them sent directly to the home address. From time to time when the remote control on your TV goes out it becomes necessary to order a remote control online and have it sent by a wholesaler directly to you. Many parts in technology have to be ordered and dropshipped because they are not sold locally. The vendor is usually not a manufacturer of parts but a distributor of parts. Department stores interact with each other from city to city and ship directly to their customers. Even hospitals have used the services of drop shipping to deliver certain items to in-home patients. The services of these vendors are used by more than one type of industry. Direct-ship vendors are a major part of the economy today. Toys, health products, electronics and sports equipment are but a few examples of merchandize that is shipped daily via a dropship company. Some of us even enjoy the safety and reliability of daily shipping status while the order is in transit and we therefore can plan to be available at delivery time to receive it. Even department stores now have on line businesses that use drop shippers. Wholesalers have warehouses scattered in all regions and parts of the country. Jobs are created by these suppliers in small towns and communities and may be the primary source of income for that particular community. Amazon.com and Ebay are two very popular online stores who sell products that are often shipped directly directly from the supplier. Practically all major brick and mortar stores also have this option and many customers prefer this method of shopping as it saves time. Keywords: People get on search engines to look for what? If you are working with a dropshipping supplier, then so are 1000 other people, how many of those people do you think are just copy and pasting the product descriptions and not doing anything they can to make it their own using the keywords they want to target? There are a few online keyword sites that are free and that will help you write content that are keyword rich. http://www.keywordspy.com is one of them and I suggest starting here. Content: Most of those people are not doing anything to make their content better (from my experience) so even just changing things around a little and making the content better by being more descriptive and using more keywords will put you ahead of the competition 100%. You can use Fiverr freelancers for content improvement and it cost just $5! https://www.fiverr.com. Make sure you have a phone number where people can contact you, email address and mailing address. When people know they can contact you they feel safer and will be less hesitant to purchase from you. Make Me Feel Safe - If you do not have any kind of SSL certificate, BBL logo, or "hacker safe" logo on your site, then you need to research these out and do whatever you can to get at least one of these added to your site where visitors can clearly see. Anything you can do to help people feel safer on your site (even a little bit) will help increase sales. I have blogged a lot about these topics in the past, but I wanted to do a new post and talk about what I believe are the most important things you can be doing right now to improve how things are going on your dropshipping store website. These are costly or not hard steps, but will take some time and planning. If you get started implementing them now it will pay off in the long run. Banners, graphics and images - Make sure that you are using the cleanest looking, fastest loading and most optimized images you can. Most programs like Photo Shop, or Paint Shop Pro (even the basic operating system photo programs) have image optimization programs that can help speed up the load time and clarity of the photo. The more images that can help describe the product you are selling for dropshipping, the better. Most dropshipping companies have their own banners and images to use for advertising, make sure to check with them first or look on their website. Often they require you to get approval to use your own images. Site Navigation - If your potential customers can't browse through your site easily, or feel they are lost, you will lose them 80% of the time from my experience and website analytics tracking. Make sure you add an html site map and a universal search engine site map so the search engines can know about the pages you are offering and when they are updated. Site Structure - Make sure your site loads fast, and that the code is clean. When using CSS you make sure that everything on the site is uniform. You will lose more customers then you realize by having a site that looks like it was designed by a 6th grader in a computer class. For many drop-off stores there are no up-front charges; instead, commission is charged once the item sells. In the past, clearing out homes resulted in low-revenue garage sales and multiple trips to the consignment store. Today, the latest trend in home organization is to clear out and cash in by dropping off unwanted items at eBay drop-off stores. You're not alone if you've got a lot of clutter in your house. When someone is getting ready to move or at the start of spring cleaning, millions of homeowners discover items they no longer need, like car parts and accessories; baby furniture; unwanted gifts; guitars and sporting equipment; etc. Here's a typical reaction from a customer when dropping off items. "I took the whole lot to a drop-off store and made over $5,000." You may also sell your items directly on Ebay and Amazon.com - to save on expenses add shipping costs to the price of the item. This is a good way to get started and 'to get your feet wet.' All comments are welcome. We will respond as soon as possible. |
